It can be frustrating when a purchase fails. Because Walletix uses a third-party gateway (MoonPay), we do not have direct control over your payment approval. However, 90% of declines are caused by one of the following reasons:
Common Reasons & Solutions:
  • Bank Side "Crypto Block": Many traditional banks (especially in the US and Nigeria) flag cryptocurrency purchases as "High Risk." Your bank may automatically decline the charge to "protect" you.
    • Solution: Call your bank's fraud department and tell them you are intentionally making a purchase on MoonPay. Ask them to "whitelist" the merchant.
  • 3D Secure (3DS) Failure: MoonPay requires a security check where your bank sends you a code via SMS or email. If you don't enter this code fast enough, or if your bank doesn't support 3DS, the transaction will fail.
    • Solution: Ensure your mobile phone is nearby and you have a strong signal to receive the verification code.
  • Insufficient Funds for Fees: Remember that the total cost includes the crypto + the processing fee. If you have exactly $100 in your account and try to buy $100 of Bitcoin, the transaction will fail because there is no room for the $3–$5 fee.
    • Solution: Try a slightly lower amount (e.g., $90) to ensure the fees are covered.
  • Account Limits: First-time buyers often have "Daily Limits."
    • Solution: Check MoonPay’s email to see if they require more ID documents to increase your spending limit.
