Phishing is a deceptive technique where scammers pretend to be a trusted entity—like Walletix Support—to trick you into giving up your password, 2FA codes, or personal data. These attacks usually happen via email, SMS, or fake social media profiles.
How to Spot a Phishing Attempt:
- Suspicious Sender Address: We will only ever email you from an @walletix.io domain. Be wary of addresses like walletix-support@gmail.com or admin@walletix-security.net.
- Urgent Threats: Scammers often use "fear" tactics, claiming your account will be deleted in 24 hours if you don't click a link.
- Fake Login Pages: Always check the URL in your browser. A phishing site might look identical to ours but use a misspelled name like walleetix.io.
The Golden Rule: Walletix staff will NEVER ask for your password or 2FA code over email or chat. If someone asks for these, they are a scammer.
