At Walletix, we believe that a password alone is never enough to protect your life savings. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature that requires two different forms of identification to access your account. Even if a hacker manages to steal your password, they will still be blocked by this second layer.
How to Enable 2FA:
- Navigate to Security Settings: Open the Walletix app and go to the Profile or Settings tab, then select Security.
- Select 2FA Method: Choose your preferred method. We highly recommend using an Authenticator App (like Google Authenticator or Authy), as it is much harder for hackers to intercept.
- Scan the QR Code: The app will display a unique QR code. Open your Authenticator app, select "Add a new account," and scan the code.
- Save Your Secret Key: You will also be shown a 16-character Secret Key. Write this down on a piece of paper and store it in a safe place. This key is the only way to recover your 2FA if you lose your phone.
- Verify the Code: Enter the 6-digit code currently showing in your Authenticator app into the Walletix prompt to finalize the setup.
Once enabled, you will be prompted for this code every time you log in or attempt to send a transaction out of your wallet.
